A Cozy Home

Hello friends and internet family, it's good to have you visit once again and I hope you are enjoying Tuesday 4.      I try to make them interesting and fun.   If you can think of improvements let me know.

Chilly, rainy weather is back in coastal New Jersey.
I don't mind.  I feel secure and alive in this kind of weather.
As a kid I enjoyed walking to school in the rain with my
little umbrella and boots on.   I loved sitting in class and
seeing the rain hit the pavement and road outside whiile
passing car lights sparkled  on the wet pavement.
The lights on inside were warm and welcome.  Yes, I love rainy days.
Tomorrow will be rainy and cool as well.   Nothing is really normal anymore.
Here is my admission for this week's Tuesday 4......
    Cozy Home
  • What’s one feature in your home that makes it feel especially cozy or comfortable for you?
I have family furniture from my great grands, grands and parents as well as their
  • photographes. My living room and dining room furniture is Victorian and I enjoy just seeing it. I love the quilts on the beds and the rugs on the floor.
  • How do you like to personalize your living space to reflect your style or personality? I use a lot of photos and paintings that have meaning for me. I use many things that represent the academia style of decor.
  • Are there any home maintenance tasks you find particularly important for keeping your space comfortable year-round? A thorough Spring cleaning is essential I think and keeps the house tick tocking along. Dusting and vacuuming are super important as is changing bed linens once a week.
  • What’s your go-to way to unwind or create a relaxing atmosphere at home after a long day? I like to have my dinner and a hot cup or coffee or tea and listen to or warch some Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot on my computer. Last night I watched Dead Man's Folly a Hercule Poirot and Ariadne Oliver movie on YouTube.

  2. That sounds so cozy and warm and welcoming! I'm glad you are getting plenty of rain. We really need it here. It's supposed to rain this week, but they said that last week too...Anyway, I love the sounds of your home furnishings and decor. I know I would be very comfortable there too!! I haven't gotten around to doing this week's post yet. Maybe later today. Things have been a little busy here today.

The yellow-slicker Annie is adorable !
I , too , have furniture and tableware from parents and grandparents . They bring a comfort and peace from all those who used them before . As to cozy , my occasional naps come complete with a snuggly kitty...ahhh...

  4. I can't say I love rain but I definitely don't mind it and some days I actually do like it a lot, lol. It so wonderful that you've inherited several pieces of furniture that you love.

  5. I hear a lot of people like Miss Marple..I've never watched any of it. I'll have to sometime. Your space sounds lovely. I love to have photos that mean something to me, not just because it';s trendy.
