Adventures...

Heat wave for most of the USA.
Keep calm and enjoy it as best as ytou can.  It looks like it might be with us a while.

From this Side of the Pond
1. What does adventure mean to you?
It means learning new things, finding things out, exploring new ideas and old ways as well. Looking at the past is adventure too!  For me, I find adventure in my own backyard.

2.  What are your thoughts on tipping?  Its a bit ouf of control lately.
What businesses or service providers do you regularly tip?  reaturants only
Do you resent being asked if you'd like to add a tip?  Not really no.
What about when a suggested amount is presented?  It can be helpful.

3. I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream...do we? Is ice cream a favorite treat at your house?
We like ice cream. I buy it for the kids.  I take a little taste now and again though I shouldn't.
What's your favorite flavor?
Always vanilla but I like the combination of vanilla with a little chocolate.

Regular, soft serve, gelato, sherbet, or some sort of non-dairy version of ice cream...what's your pleasure?
I like ice cream sodas: soda water with chocolate syrup (which is how you make chocolate soda), 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream.  If it's in a dish, I like the regular kind.
Sherbet is for punch... a few quarts of raspberry soda and a half gallon of raspberry sherbet floating in it.. or orange or any flavor you want.
4. What's your 'back in my day, we____________________ ' story or saying?
Back in my day people were not so easily offended by every little thing.   Let's go back in time.

5. Somehow this is our last Hodgepodge in the month of June. Next week's Hodgepodge lands in July. Wow. Sum up your June using three adjectives.
June was chilly, windy, lovely.

6. Insert your own random thought here:  First summer sunset on the lagoon

  1. I hope you are managing to stay cool.
I have never had an ice cream soda, it's something I've always wanted to try but never got around to.
    What a beautiful sunset!

  3. What a stunning sunset!I haven't had an ice cream soda in a long time, but I used to love them too. I think we might have reached 'the tipping point' so to speak when it comes to tip ettiquette. Hope you have a great rest of your week!

  5. Oh, I used to love chocolate sodas! You can't find them anywhere anymore. I remember getting them with my mother when we'd go shopping and end up at Woolworths at their soda fountain. What a treat! Although sometimes I would get a Hot Fudge Sundae instead. But if I could get a chocolate soda today, I would! I hope you are staying cool and relaxing in your heat wave. I do hope you have AC. I know a lot of people up north don't have it, and I am sure they are wishing they did right now. Oh, sherbet...yes, I love to make punch with sherbet...lime sherbet, cran-rasberry juice, and ginger ale, or add some pineapple juice to it too, and use the rainbow sherbet. So many good punch recipes with sherbet. And I love root beer floats...Now I want one of any of the above! Thanks!
