Thursday the Little brought me a bouquet of pink opal roses from the florist.. gorgeous! Such a beautiful pink color.
We will be having a 4th of July picnic with hot dogs, fried chicken, French fries, maple baked beans, cole slaw and brownies for dessert. We have chili for the hot dogs or sauerkrat, Wickles wicked good relish, mustard, ketchup and iced tea, Yoo Hoo and Samuel Adams , coffee and tea.
I had bought some Dolly Parton Duncan Hines chocolate frosting for the brownies and some ice cream as well. I already have all the ice cream toppings known to mankind.
We plan on seeing the movie Yankee Doodle Dandy and play some games, then at dusk we will sit outside and watch the fireworks over the bay.
Sometime last week I had said to God that we didn't have good old fashioned thunderstorms anymore and I wish he would send a few. So he did. Big ones and it was glorious. Three days worth in a row!
As always I will read the Declaration of Independence on the 4th as our pioneer ancestors did back in the day. My flags are out and waving wildly.
I hope you have a happy 4th and remember to celebrate this great nation under God and the pioneers who built the nation out of nothing and all by themselves. .
The photo is from another year.. waiting for the fireworks to begin under a pink candy cotton sky.

Your day sounds fantastic! Enjoy! We are doing hotdogs too. Happy Independence Day!

Have an amazing Fourth celebration, Annie, and let us all give thanks to God for the gift of freedom we have in our country. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a few bad thunderstorms, and then some damaging microbursts... but regardless, we needed the rain so badly that it didn't matter. Not doing anything today. Family is all out doing other things with other family. I'm just going to rest. Have a lovely and blessed weekend, Annie!
ReplyDeleteWe've not had very many thunderstorms here lately. I wouldn't mind having a few.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're going to have a great 4th of July celebration. It's got to be wonderful that you can sit out at your house and watch fireworks!
I have a porch garden (not enough land for the direct-planting yearnings) , complete with grow towers and a 9"Wx12"Lx5" D tub to hold new starts before planting . Before the storms , the basin was empty . After the storms , it was 3/4 full of water ! The "farm" is well watered , as is the surrounding pine forest...comforting amidst lightning storms...no more wildfires , PLEASE !!! Enjoy your get togethers and deeply ponder the myriad blessings our independence affords .
