October Reading

Happy Tuesday friends.

Welcome to Tuesday 4 in memory of  our friend Toni Taddeo..
Most people love to read.  It opens other world's to us.  Autumn weather is often conducive to reading as weather can be chillier and rainy. Cozying up with a book can be a lovely way to spend some time.

  1. How do you relax in the evening after dinner?  I usually watch something on YouTube or listen to radio with a cup of coffee or tea.
  2. Do you read in bed? What kind of books do you read?  No, not anymore. Sitting up in bed is too painful on my spine.  I used to though. Most of the time I will read a book at the dining room table or at my desk.
  3. Do you have a list of books you look forward to reading?  I think I would like to reread some Agatha Christie and perhaps begin with a series like Jan Karon's Mitford books,   Also on the list is Death and Darjeeling by Laura Childs,  and Murder She Wrote: Trick or Treachery.    I would also like to reread  The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.
  4. What is the best book you've ever read and why?  This is a very hard question to answer.  There are several books I have really enjoyed a lot.  I liked A Christmas Carol and David Copperfield very much.    Or.. how about the worst book you feel you wasted time reading?  There was one book from the Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery that was nice until the end when it seems she lost interest in the  story.  It was very disappointing.

  1. I enjoyed your post and answers. I hope to get around to this one later, but have to leave early this morning for an eye appt. for hubby at a dr. who is over an hour away. It's been a busy couple of days, so I hope to get back later. I also loved A Christmas Carol and David Copperfield, but I find that I can't bear to read David Copperfield or watch the movie again because it just upsets me to see how he was treated. That one, and Oliver Twist. There are parts I love and parts I don't. But I guess that's the way life is! We have to take the good with the bad, and vice versa. I hope you are having a lovely day. I gotta run right now, but hope to get back to this later.

  3. I enjoyed your answers Annie. I read David Copperfield many years ago. I know I enjoyed it but don't remember it well to be honest though I did see the movie too! I agree that it's difficult to watch those old movies where the children are being abused. Very disturbing. I've read all of Amy Tan's book starting with The Joy Luck Club & including her memoir. I can highly recommend her books. I didn't enjoy the movie of the same name.

  4. I get so frustrated when I read a book that I do not like. I have learned to just put it down and start another one though. For a time I had to see if it would get better.
I watch a lot of Youtube. I am going to watch it here after I read blogs. I like Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly for some news. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

  5. The Joy Luck Club was good. Sorry you cant read in bed. My lower back has been bothering me again because I lost weight-less padding. I sure with the middle would go! I watched Great Expectations last Christmas and I remember reading it in 4th grade English.

  7. I was all ready to do Tuesday 4 this week and then forgot! I watch a lot of YouTube in the evenings and I read mostly in bed. Jan Karon's new book arrived yesterday so you can guess what I'm reading now!
