Old School Meme

It's barely 15F outside tonight but, it's been far colder. My new pond heater is keeping the entire pond ice free! Gives the fishies a place to hang out too.
We are awaiting the 2nd snowstorm coming up from the south.
People are ice skating on the bay and ice boats are out this year as well.
I am iced in as my driveway is blocked by 3 feet of snow hardened by ice and you can't park out front on the street either unless you have a seriously low IQ.
Please remember to let your animals inside in cold weather.  They are not arctic types.

Welcome to Sunday Stealing. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. Cheers to all of us thieves!

This week's questions come from  Kwizgiver, who was invited to play by a blogging buddy named Paula. Now you're invited to play along, too.

  1. Oh, for Pete's sake! I've said that a lot too. I wonder, just who is "Pete"? Do we know? I enjoyed your answers. We are at 22 degrees this morning, but no ice or snow here in north central Florida, although many around us had some light flurries last night. We are safe and warm inside our cozy home, and yes, we brought in our pet Blackie. He is loving every minute of it. I'd love to see Prince Edward Island just once! Maybe someday. Have a blessed Sunday. Stay warm.

    1. The question about "Pete" was googled . " The phrase 'Oh , for Pete's sake ' originated as a euphemism for the more offensive phrases like 'for Christ's sake ' or ' for God's sake' . The name Pete is often thought to refer to Saint Peter , a disciple of Jesus , and was used to avoid blasphemy . The phrase has been in use since at least 1903 and it became popular as a way to express frustration in a less offensive manner . "

  3. Sleepy Hollow would be fun! I've always loved the story of the Headless Horseman. Colonial Williamsburg, too. I always think of it when someone else mentions it, but somehow never have gotten around to going there.

  5. Cool choices for places to visit. It's 13 degrees right now as I write this. I don't remember it being so cold for so long in Virginia in a very long time.

  6. It has been like the Artic here in Kansas also for over a week. We were forecast to have over a foot of snow last weekend, but thankfully it was only 6.5". Tomorrow we will have about ten days (*crossed fingers*) of upper 40s, upper 50s, and even some 60s! Woot! I'm not a winter person, and still recuperating from surgery, so winter has been hard on me.

By the way... have any of us found out who Pete is? 🤣

Have an awesome first week of February, Annie! 💕

  7. I named Colonial Williamsburg, too. They have a fabulous, immersive spa, right there on the grounds. It was my ideal geeky getaway. I'd spend the mornings touring the historical sites and then after lunch, indulge in some serious pampering. I always came home from Colonial Williamsburg feeling refreshed and ready for life again.
