The $80,000 Meme

Premise: A philanthropist awards you $80,000 with the stipulation that you must spend half on yourself and half for the benefit of others. 

For our overseas players, here's a currency calculator. 

1. Of the $40,000 you must spend on yourself: 

a. First you throw yourself a lavish birthday party. Tell us about it.   I would take friends and family out for dinner and a show.   A

b. Then you take off on a cruise. Where are you headed?  I am headed for the Dramamine and Bonine.  I get seasick.    I might pay for my friends and family to take the cruise around Manhattan (New York City) at night while I go home and watch some television. Better yet a cruise up the Hudson River. 

2. Of the $40,000 you must spend for the benefit of others: 

a. Who would be on your gift list? What would buy them?  I would just give them money to help out with what they needed.  $40,000 doesn't go very far anymore but most friends and family could use some cash for their own special needs .

b. Which charities would you support?  St. Jude's Childrens hospital ,  the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).  and the  Fresh Air Fund  that sends disadvantaged kids to the country and out of the hot city for the summer.  

Now tell me why any child in America should be disadvantaged?   Well, we all know why if we are honest.

Saturday 9: This Is A Very Special Day (1953)

1) In this song, Peggy sings that she feels good enough to climb a hill. Will you be doing anything athletic today?    No, nothing athletic at all.

2) However she was also tempted to climb back in bed. Is a nap in your plans for today?  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.  Not on Saturday though.

3) She tells us that she looked in the mirror and told herself it was time to "lose the blues." Do you ever speak outloud to yourself?   Yes, I think everyone does.

4) Peggy wrote this song for the 1953 remake of The Jazz Singer. She performs it in the movie, too. In the 1950s, female singer-songwriters were unusual, but not so today. Can you think of another woman who not only sings but writes her own material?   Carol King.

5) Her co-star in the film was Danny Thomas. Today he is best remembered as a philanthropist and founder of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, but he was quite a star in his day. He appeared in nightclubs and movie musicals and, from 1954 to 1963, had his own sitcom. Do you know the show?   Yes , the Danny Thomas show was called Make Room for Daddy.

6) When Peggy Lee was trying to break into show business, she supported herself as a short order cook. She was required to turn orders around quickly. Are you fast and efficient in the kitchen?  Not anymore, no and not certain I ever was.  But I am a decent cook and baker anyway.

7) Just when her career started to take off, Peggy had to take a break when she had her tonsils removed. Do you still have your tonsils?     Yes, my tonsils are alive and well.

8) In 1953, when this record was released, Matchbox Cars were introduced and they remain popular today. Did you ever play with Matchbox Cars?  No, but my son had a big collection of them.

9) Random question: You're walking past a filthy puddle. Floating on top you see a dead bug, a cigarette butt, and a $1 bill. Would you bend over and rescue the dollar?         It would depend on how filthy it was but probably not.  What would I do with a sopping wet dollar?

The original Jazz Singer starred Al Jolson in 1927.. later Neil Diamond did a version.   I always loved Neil Diamond.

Toiletries and Cosmetics

Welcome to Tuesday 4 which was started  by Toni Taddeo and kept up in memory and honor of her.
How about talking about cosmetics and toiletries this week?

Let's jump right in, shall we?

1. What brand of shampoo do you think works best for you and what does it do for you?
Lately I have been using OGX Teatree Mint Shampoo and Suave Honey infusion leave in conditioner which makes my hair very soft and shiny.

2. Do you use cosmetics and if so what do you use?

My coloring is "Winter" . My natural hair color is a deep dark brown ,darker than my mother but not as dark as my father whose hair was jet blue-black.  Her eyes were gray, his dark brown, mine are light green that sometimes photograph blue.

I have very fair skin in comparison to my parents.  I am classified as a "Winter"

I don't wear foundation .  I just wear mascara ( Great Lash since high school) eyeliner, and blush, some lipstick ocsometimes, u sually Gentlemen Prefer Pink by Revlon.  I use Milani tea rose blush or Korean brand   My Dahlia' Petal Drop color Barely.  My eyeliner is usually dark brown, black or a deep eggplant (aubergine)color

I have hooded eyes so sometimes shadow is useless on me as you can't see my eyelids usually. Hooded eyes are actually a form of epicanthic fold. 

I don't use foundation.

 3.Do you use a washcloth on your face?   Yes! It is necessary to exfoliate the skin.

 4. Do you have an all time favorite perfume or scent that you wear? If you don't wear perfumes, is there a scent that you love in general?
I wear a lot of different perfumes but I do love Yves St. Laurent's Paris and Thierry Mugler's Angel.

The Alphabet Meme

Answer these questions with anything from a single word to a paragraph or two. It's up to you.

I have used generic answers because some of these questions can be used for phishing.

A is for Age.   How about the Ice Age?  The earth is warming because we are still under the effects of a worldwide flood, now pretty much accepted by science as proof is everywhere and in all cultures.  We have still not returned to 'normal' they tell us.   Anyway, the Ice Age had pretty cool animals!   How about Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence?  A good novel all in all.

B is for your Booze of choice  I really do not drink except for wine for religious purposes.  If I had to pick a beer it would be Sam Adams.  I do like the taste of Frangelico and brandy and benedictine but, I just don't like how sleepy alcohol makes me.

C is for Career.     A career is something every girl must have.  It must be something that she can do at any age and it must earn a decent salary.  No one should rely on any human being for their welfare, safety , living or security.  Rely only on the Almighty and your own abilities through him.   Get a career before you marry anyone.    I've heard a lot about the Proverbs 31 wife... she who raised up vineyards.. bought and sold real estate, had still another cottage industry, supervised the help and  supported her family!    

D is for your Dog's name.   I suppose people take time to figure out a name for their animal friends.  Fido, Spot, Buster, Champ are hardly used anymore.  

E is for Everyday Essentials.: Well  food, which is very essential, toilet paper, gas, oil, medical care prices are through the roof with no end in sight.

F is for your Favorite Food.  There is no one food I enjoy. Overall I really like cabbage rolls.  A good Napoleon though hard to find a bakery that makes them to perfection anymore.   I like my homemade veggie egg rolls... my grandmothers foods.

 Since I used 'anymore'  I wondered about it's correct usage and found this:

Anymore (Time): "I don't eat meat anymore."

G is for your favorite Game.  I used to like playing that game where you ask for adjectives, adverbs, nouns, proper nouns and verbs to plug into stories then you read the story back.   Mad libs I think it's called.   I like trivia games too.

H is for your Hometown.        My hometown is 70 miles north of here but still on the coast by a seaport and you could see the Manhattan skyline.  It is a tiny town, what they call a bedroom town for NYC.  It was the first town lit by electriciy, the  first town for Marconi's wireless broadcast too.  It was a field hospital and crossroads during the Revulutionary War.

I is for an Instrument you play.   I play piano, organ,  

J is for your favorite Jam or Jelly flavor.                 I love Tomato jam.  It's my all time favorite but I am also pretty crazy about peach jam and black raspberry jam. Unfortunatly I can't have sugar anymore.

K is for Kids.  5 of the little critters!

L is for the Last show or movie your watched.         Late Saturday night  I watched Death Cruise (1974 made for TV drama) with Tom Bosley (Happy Days), Polly Bergan, Kate Jackson(Charlie's Angels), Edward Albert, Richard Long, Celeste Holm.   

M is for your Most prized possession.   My family but they aren't a possession.. so I'll say my piano.

N is for the Name of your first crush.             I have no clue!

O is for what you Observe from your window. Water and trees out front, water and trees out back.

P is for Phobias.            "A phobia is an intense, irrational, and persistent fear of a specific object, situation, or activity. It is classified as an anxiety disorder, where the fear experienced is severely disproportionate to the actual danger, causing individuals to go to great lengths to avoid the trigger."

I don't have a phobia as defined,    I do have dislikes and things I will not do but I don't believe I have irrational, intense fears.

Q is for your favorite Quote.      I don't have a favorite and there are just too many to list.

R is for Regret.     You will regret the things you should have done, could have done but didn't do 

S is for Sweets. I avoid sweets like the plague but I used to love Napoleons and Snickers.  

T is for the Time you wake up.   There is no definite time.

U is for Underwear.    I hate it.  Bras can keep your lymph system from draining properly if at all.. very dangerous. Mostly they are the result of a sick society that finds breasts embarassing .  We are so misguieded.       Underpants should be pure cotton.

V is for your favorite Vegetable.  I do really love Brussel Sprouts, and I am wild about potatoes!

W is for your Worst habit.   Hoping that this time a politician would be a truthful, decent man. Hope can be a fool's paradise.

X is for X-rays.  Dangerous but sometimes necessary and a good medical tool.

Y is for your Yummiest recipe.  Most of them are on my Rock & Roll Cafe blog.. though certainly not all.  The link is in the list at the top of this page.  I have neglected adding most of my favorites and should do more but, interest in the page declined.

1) Have you ever taken a martial arts class?   No,  I never have taken a martial arts class.

2) In this song, Carl Edwards sings about funky Chinatown. Many cities – including San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Vancouver, London and Antwerp – have a Chinatown. Have you ever visited Chinatown? 

   Yes, I have visited Chinatown in New York City many times and had a nice time.

3) Many Chinese restaurants give out fortune cookies. Can you recall one of your fortunes? No, I don't remember any fortunes.   I used to take my kids to a Chinese restaurant near us all the time,  It was a beautiful place.  

4) This week's featured artist, Carl Edwards, was born in Jamaica, spent his childhood in the US, and relocated to England. Have you ever lived abroad?   No, I have not lived abroad but a good protion of my family do.

5) In 1974 he became the first Jamaican to have a #1 hit in the US with this song. Have you been to Jamaica?   No, never visited Jamaica mon.  I am kind of leary about the Bermuda triangle as my sister in laws first hubby, who was a Navy pilot, disappeared in the triangle.

6) When this week's song was on the charts, ABC TV had a hit with the show Kung Fu. Today it's available to stream. Were you a fan?    I wasn't really a fan but I  did see a few episodes back in the day.

7) Also in 1974, the FIFA World Cup was played in West Germany. Have you been following the FIFA World Cup this year?   I am not a fan of sports really.   I Have followed the remarks of tourists who just love the USA and who felt lied to by their media about the USA.  It was nice to hear how much they loved it here.  

8) Two of 1974's most popular toys were popular with adults, too. Would you prefer a Rubik's Cube or a Magic 8 Ball?    A Rubik's cube. 

9) Random question: Have you ever cut someone else's hair?           Yes, I've cut a lot of people's hair over the years.   

The sky is yellow... and we have a lot of smoke right now.  Poor Canada...!

Summertime

 Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4...

Summer time is upon us. 

1. What special memories do you have about summer when you were younger?

Riding my bike endlessly. Hiking in the Watchung mountains with my Dad.   Swimming and surfing .  Painting the back porch each year. My Dad barbequing in the yard. 

2. What is the highest temperature you've experienced in summer?  What about so far this summer? How do you weather the heat or humidity?  

The highest was about 109°F.  So far this summer was 100°F a few weeks ago for a day or two. But, it's been mostly very nice out.   I weather the heat with fans and air conditioning and am very thankful for both.

3. What's been on your menu so far this summer?  In summer I like to make tuna salad and lemon spaghetti.

To make lemon spaghetti.. cook some spaghetti in a not too large pot.  The smaller the pot the higher the starch in the water and you want some of that water for the sauce.

To a small ladle full of the water you cooked the spaghetti in, add the juice of a big lemon. Add in some pepper, salt if you want to, chopped parsley and ten tons of fresh grated parmesan cheese.   Cook til the sauce is rich and pour on the spaghetti. Top with another 10 tons of paresane or romano cheese.  That's how I make it any way.

4.  What is on your reading list this summer... anything to recoomend to us?  What's on your TV this summer. Any music you're liking this summer?

I want to watch Landman on Paramount with Billy Bob Thornton... I like his acting.

I might re-read Early Autumn by Robert Parker (part of the Spenser for Hire series of books).

As far as music goes, I have not been listening to anything really.

Saturday 9: There'll Be Some Changes Made (1962)

1) In this song, Ann-Margret sings that she's going to change her way of living. If you could simply snap your fingers and change something in your life, what would it be?

Definitely my health. I'd heal myself and send myself back in time to redeem the years it was taken from me.

2) She tells us she's going to change her name. Have you ever changed your name, or asked people to refer to you differently? (Example: "Don't call me Betty anymore. I want to be Elizabeth.")

When I married I changed my last name as most women do.  I also changed my name for use on this blog.

3) Ann-Margret was born Ann-Margret Olsson in Sweden and whenshe was 5, her family moved to Winnetka, Illinois. She is fluent in both Swedish and English. When did you last converse in a language other than English?

I think you mean in a conversation and so that would be a no. 

 I am slowly learning some Ojibwe and so I say those words daily to practice.  You probably know some of the language if you know the poem about Hiawatha or the song The Edmund Fitzgerald.

Both the poem and song  speak of the great lake they call Gitchi gumee or Lake Superior and in many other words you might take for granted or don't know that are from Ojibwe.  Words like muskelunge (a big fish), tobaggan (a big sled), Toronto, Michigan, Muskogee, Winnepeg, moose, mocassin, Mississippi, mackinaw from makinaag.  So you already know a lot of the language.  

 

4) Olivia Newton-John was a big Ann-Margret fan. When she was cast in the movie Grease, Olivia asked that her character's name be changed from "Sandy Dumbrowski" to "Sandy Olsson" in tribute. Grease is one of the most profitable movies ever made. Have you seen it more than once?

I had trouble sitting through it even once.

 

5) Ann-Margret celebrated her 85th birthday earlier this year. Back in 2024, Ann-Margret told a reporter that she planned to celebrate her 83rd birthday with a spin on her motorcycle, a lavender Harley-Davidson. "I love speed," she explained. Do you always observe the speed limit? Or have you been known to zip along a little faster?

I always tried to keep to the speed limits.

6) This week's song was written in 1921 and over the last 100+ years it's been recorded more than 400 times. Before today, had you heard it?

Yes. I heard it in old movies and on the radio as a kid.

7) The lyrics were written by William Weldon Higgins, who was better known as vaudeville comic Billy Higgins. When did you most recently laugh out loud?

I laugh outloud daily.

8) The music was composed by William Overstreet. In addition to writing music, he was a respected director at Chicago's Grand Theater. When did you last see a live performance (concert, play, etc.)?

I saw  The Fantasticks off broadway a number of years back now.  For music I saw The Trans Siberian Orchestra when they came to Atlantic City.

9) Random question: Do you have more or less than $20 cash in your wallet right now?

I have around $25.00

What Do You Call It?

 Welcome to Tuesday 4 which was started by our friend Toni Taddeo and kept up in memory of her.

 Different sections of the USA have different words and customs they use. Let's talk about them.

1. In New Jersey you put your groceries in a paper bag or plastic bag.  In Athens, Ohio where I went to
university, you put them in a paper sack.
Is it bag , sack or something else where you live?

I wrote these questions and my answer is actually in the questionsl  

It's bag in New Jersey whether plastic or paper or the new degradable ones.

2. Though no one seems to wear them anymore, NJ says  Stockings.  

 Athens,  Ohio used to call them "hose" and in Britain they are tights. 

What about where you live?
Here is New Jersey it would still be stockings no matter what.  Tights are the heavy colored things you wear usually only in winter or they are for ballet.  Also we wore them if a skirt was too short.  

3.Soda, Pop, Coke? 

We are soda.  If you ask for coke you will get a Coca Cola.  If you ask for a pop you might get a smack!

Hero, sub, grinder, hoagie?
 In most of New Jersey they are called submarine sandwiches or subs.  As you get closer to Philly they turn into Hoagies.

4. Shopping cart or trolley. buggy?   

 What do you call it?   Shopping cart is usual here in New Jersey.

1) Irving Berlin's lyrics celebrate our mountains, prairies, and oceans. Which of these geographical features is nearest your home?               The ocean and a forest

2) Berlin donated his royalties from "God Bless America" to the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Were you ever a Scout?

 Yes and went all the way to receive my curved bar  which is like Eagle Scout for boys.

3) While this week's song has been recorded many times, we're concentrating on Connie Francis' 1959 version. It was never intended to be a hit, released as the B-side to her popular "Among My Souvenirs." But it took off when it was played at school rallies and patriotic events. Do you know all the lyrics to "God Bless America?" Could you sing along with Connie?

Yes, sure I can.

4) After she wrote her autobiography, Connie said she wanted Valerie Bertinelli to play her in the movie. Even though Valerie isn't known for her singing, Connie liked that they were both Italian-American and 5'5". If we made a movie of your life, who should play you?

5) Connie had a passionate romance with Bobby Darin, and their relationship is included in the Broadway show about Bobby's life, Just In Time. While Connie expressed her support for the production, she never saw the show because hip problems made flying difficult. How about you? Are you dealing with any aches or pains today?   Always.

6) The Fourth of July means we're in the middle of summer. Are you careful about applying sunscreen?

No and there is a lot of evidence it actually pushes the development skin problems.

7) More beer is purchased for the 4th of July than any other holiday. What beverage will be served with your July 4th meal?   Whatever people ask for.

8) Emergency rooms expect an increase over the July 4th holiday. The most common causes are sports injuries (like jammed wrists and wrenched knees) and the unwise use of home fireworks. Have you  been to the ER or Urgent Care during 2026?

 No b'h and I hope not too at all.

9) New York is home to Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest every year on the 4th. Will hot dogs be consumed in your household this weekend?  Yes.

Tuesday 4 for the 4th

It's time again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 and this week our friend Susan  suggested the topic of decorating our homes for the holidays, espcially for the 4th of July as it is the USA's 250th birthday.  So, lets do that.

On July 4, 1776 we declared our independence from the British Empire and King George III  when the First Continental Congress sst forth the Declaration of Independence.

We became a free and sovereign, independent nation on

September 3, 1783 

1. Will or have you decorated for the holiday? If you don't reside in the USA, do you have a special holiday you decorate for on the outside of your home?

I have a little flag out in a hanging flower basket.  I do have a very large flag for the side of the house but no light for it and I can't reach it anymore to put it out.  I feel bad about that.

I am looking for a solar light to point at my big flag which would be in a wrought iron holder I have on the side of the house.  Then I can put it out permanently.

2. What special little touches do you add to  the outside of your home?  Baskets of hanging flowers, 

I have 2 of these light up solar wind chimes in my yard.  I got them on Amazon under solar powered wind chimes.

I have statuary of an alligator , herons, and a boy and a girl by my ponds.   

 Do you enjoy puttering around in your yard?  YES YES YES

3. Are plants and shrubs an important part of your house decor?

Absolutely.  And if you can't afford them use what grows around you naturally but  prune it, dress it, keep it nice.

If you can't afford flowers find some in the woods or a field and transplant them in bunches to your yard. Make it look pretty.

My land is very sandy soil but it grows wild fern and moss in great abundance so I cultivate it and make it look nice.

4.  On which holidays do you spend time deoorating either inside , outside or both?   Really only Thanksgiving, the December holidays ,

I planted this as a seedling I brought home from Lake Placid, NY.

Cadillac Ranch

Saturday 9: Cadillac Ranch (1981)

1) In this song, Bruce Springsteen sings about taking his father and his aunt to see The Cadillac Ranch. Have you recently taken a road trip? If yes, where did you go?

It has been ages since I've been any where.  My last real road trip was to Prince Edward Island, a 17 hour drive.  Well worth the time and trip. 

2) The Cadillac Ranch is real. It's an outdoor art installation in Amarillo, TX. Tell us about a statue, mural, or other piece of outdoor art in your community. 

We have a cool dinosaur and my actual hometown has a doughboy WW1 memorial.. but I did live in  Salt Lake so I will use this one.

When millions of locusts/hoppers invaded the Salt Lake valley and began eating all the crops so all the people prayed and fasted for heavenly mercy.  Sure enough the prayers were answered and millions of seagulls from the California coast flew in to eat every sinble bug and save the crops.  Now, at Ensign Peak there is a memorial to the gulls, which still live in Utah.   They are now actually the state birds.

3) Not only is Bruce singing about a real place, he mentions three real people. The first is "James Dean in his Mercury 49." That refers to the 1949 Mercury driven by James Dean in his first starring role, Rebel Without a Cause. Though he remains a legendary star, Dean made only three movies before his death at age 24. Have you seen any of his films? 

Yes, I've seen all of Dean's films.

4) The second is "Junior Johnson runnin' through the woods of Caroline." Junior Johnson was a folk hero, famous as a NASCAR driver and notorious for running moonshine through North Carolina. I suppose Peter Pan was pretty good.   Cinderella was nice.  

5) The third man Bruce sings about is "Burt Reynolds and his black Trans Am." This is a reference to Burt's biggest hit, 1977's Smokey and the Bandit. Burt also had success as a restaurateur. He co-owned Burt and Jack's, a popular steakhouse at Port Everglades, right on the water. Tell us about a restaurant that offered both good food and a memorable view.

6) For decades, Cadillac was the gold standard of luxury. For example, an eatery referred to as "the Cadillac of restaurants" would be best or most prestigious. Think about your neighborhood. Tell us about a restaurant, hotel or business that is "the Cadillac" of your community.

I live in a small seaside town so not much.  We do have a new kosher restaurant that seems very nice. I don't think it's open yet though.  Looks very lovely so far.   Here are some photos of it.

7) Since he's been singing about America and cars for decades, it should come as no surprise that Bruce Springsteen has a collection of classic American cars. For the cover of his autobiography he chose a photo of himself leaning on his favorite, a 1960 Corvette convertible. Think about your favorite photo of yourself. What are you doing?   This is a fun photo taken at a  BlueClaws baseball game.  I had made a nice comment to the mascot and he rushed over to propose to me.   What fun.

 

8) In 1981, when Bruce released this recording, Dolly Parton had a hit with "9 to 5." What's your favorite Dolly Parton song?

It is a song called Hard Candy Christmas.  My life was pretty darn hard for a long while so this isn't about Christmas, it's about toughing out the hard times of life.  The term hard candy Christmas refers to times when poverty stricken families could barely even afford a few pieces of hard candy for their kids.

9) Random question: When did you last DIY and fix something around your home or yard?

The Famous Anonymous built me a deck to replace the broken down back stairs.   She never did anything like that before but she did a bang up job.  She even put solar lights on the posts.  I am thrilled.

Summer...

Summertime, and the living is easy.

.  Snowbirds return to their summer homes and their erractic elderly driving habits, but the weather is balmy, breezy and gorgeous. Skies are blue, the ocean is even bluer and life is good.

1. Summer's here!  In the northern hemisphere anyway. If you're in the southern hemisphere substitute winter for the word summer. What do you love most about summer?  The sounds of birds, frogs, the sunshine, the warmth, the boardwalk scents of cotton candy, hot dogs etc.  Warm breezes.

What's your biggest summer pet peeve? 

 High humidity. 

2. What song always reminds you of summer?  There are  a few like Theme from a Summer Place by Percy Faith,   I love it because I live in a summer place.

the Beach Boys  All Summer Long which embodies everything about my teen years here at the beach.

 

Summer Breeze by Seals and Crofts   because it reminds me of cooking dinner with the door open waiting for my husband to come home in summer.

3. What's something you remember about your childhood summers? Surfing with my Dad, hiking with him in the Watchung mountains, endless bike rides, barbeques every week, fireworks on Wednesday nights at Seaside.

 Do you think kids today get to enjoy summer the way you did as a child? Elaborate. Well mine do because they get to spend the days at the grandparents beach house which is right on the beach and my house which is on the bay so their possibilities are endless.

4. We celebrate Fathers Day on June 21st. Do you favor your dad in looks or temperament? Tell us something about your dad. Or your husband as a dad. Or a son/son-in-law as a dad. Or your grandpa.   My Dad was a chemist, he had jet black hair and chocolate brown eyes.. I have his dimples (somewhat) but not his coloring. I think I favor both parents really.   My sons (I have 2) are the best.

• flip flops or sandals neither. I wear flat soled shoes because I am disabled now and sandals and flipflops are dangerous.

Let's talk about you .....

1. Music. What kind of music do you enjoy?  
 I like music from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s and a lot of the new stuff too.  Also a fan of a lot of classical things.

Are you musical? Yes. I play piano and took lessons on other instruments and voice lessons.

2.    Travel. Where have we been? What's your favorite destination(s)?
 I've been to Canada and across much of the USA which is huge. .   I see that the visitors for the World Cup are staggered by the distances and differences and how friendly Americans really are.  They are also surprised we are not the violent nation propaganda likes to paint us out to be.

My favorite destination is our own beaches right here.

3.   Occupations. Did you end up working at what you wanted to be? Do you wish you'd done something else, if so, what? etc.    I didn't end up with what I wanted because I never knew what I wanted.   I would have preferred sticking with anthropology but it's so filled with political BS that I just couldn't proceed with it.

4. .  How do you keep from being bored?    I read, study, learn, watch goodies on YouTube, sit by the water, watch my fish... I am never bored.
