Reading and Working Out
Though the weather is somewhat cold, Robins are flocking around and birds are singing. I think that is a sign of spring coming and I don't think anyone will miss winter this year.
I hope that spring brings better things than winter did.
I am once again in physical therapy and working hard to get strong. I love going but it is hard work and a few days left me hurting quite a bit. Worth it though.
I am reading a John Grisham novel called A Painted House. Only a few pages in, I am finding it so well written that it is hard to put down!
Are you reading anything lately?

Friday Meme Time
Meme time...
I hope you can find time to do this little meme on your own blog.
1. Do you follow the Olympics?
2. Which is your fav, Summer Olympics or Winter?
3. Favorite Olympic sport?
4. Do you have a favorite all time Olympic athlete?
5. What Olympic site do you think was the nicest one so far?
What snow we got disappeared in rain and only dustings here and there remain as the weather heated up to a balmy 41F today. More snow on the way tonight and tomorrow.
Winter is still with us.
How is it where you are?
Have a lovely, warm weekend.

A Slushy Thursday Night
Selfies are the thing today, photos taken by a person's own camera or cell phone.
< This photo is a selfie by the Famous Anonymous Kid of her own eye.
She shares the family green eyes with purple/blue circle around the iris.
Phones have come a far way from the old heavy desk phones of yesterday or the Instamatic disposable cameras not too long ago.
As far as I am concerned the verdict is still out on them. All I really want is to answer calls not have a phone that will tie my shoes. But my family got me a Samsung Galaxy something or other, the newest one anyway. will get around to visit a bit later tonight most likely.
It has been a busy few days.
Physical therapy is back in swing and this time with exercise machines that left my legs hurting a lot. More next week. No pain, no gain they say.
The snow storm has not been too big a deal here on the coast despite winter storm warnings etc.
A couple of inches of snow fell followed by a night and day of cold rain. Some snow lingers but, it is really more rainy than anything else.
Mr. Weatherman says we can expect a bit more to come up from the south at us tonight again.
Thunder and lightning have been seen and heard here in South Jersey with this storm. Spring meeting winter perhaps?
I am sure North Jersey got a significantly greater amount.
Tomorrow I will put up this week's meme and hopefully you will enjoy doing that when you get the chance.
I am so happy people are joining in on them.

Into the Weekend
Today is bright and sunny with clear deep blue skies after a couple of days of rain storms.
Hopefully the groundhog was wrong and spring is on the way. I am not a fan of the wet, chilly damp of spring but, it means more days with open windows and I am a fan of that.
This weekend will be quiet.
Tomorrow night I will head out to buy a new wide slat white wooden window blind for my bedroom. The old one is falling apart so off to Home Depot after dark.
What a night life I have!
Maybe also a trip to Home Goods for pillowcases and hangers.
Yes, I live a wild life!
I hope your weekend will be happy and fun.

Alone, But Not Alone
Hollywood recinded this song's nomination for an Oscar.
Times have changed and not for the better. At one time songs like You'll Never Walk Alone, Climb Every Mountain, He's Got the Whole World in His Hands were big hits.
Now the nation rejects faith like a disease.
If Hollywood won't play it, I will because I have also been Alone, but not Alone as have so many of us at times in our lives.
This rendition is beautifully done by Joni Eareckson Tada.
"ALONE YET NOT ALONE tells the inspiring true story of Barbara and Regina Leininger and their journey of faith and survival during the French & Indian war in 1755. Captured by the Delaware Indians in a raid on their home and transported over 300 miles of wilderness to Ohio, the sisters are sustained only by their abiding trust in God" (Trailer Here)

Reading Jane
Is Spring far off now?
Any time of year is a good time to enjoy Jane Austen's clever novels about morals and manners of the Regency Era.
“The whole country about them abounded in beautiful walks. The high downs which invited them from almost every window of the cottage to seek the exquisite enjoyment of air on their summits, were a happy
alternative when the dirt of the valleys beneath shut up their superior beauties; and towards one of these hills did Marianne and Margaret one memorable morning direct their steps, attracted by the partial sunshine of a showery sky, and unable longer to bear the confinement which the settled rain of the two preceding days had occasioned.
Austen Home
The weather was not tempting enough to draw the two others from their pencil and their book, in spite of Marianne's declaration that the day would be lastingly fair, and that every threatening cloud would be drawn off from their hills; and the two girls set off together. ” (Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen)
