Barnegat Bay.. Friday Foto Friends

August is well underway and cooler than usual here along the Jersey coast.
On Friday I take part in Friday Foto Friends which is hosted by Debbie and open to anyone who wishes to join in. Click the graphic camera to go visit Debbie.
It is a good way to meet new people and another great reason to get out and about and photograph things that interest you.

Here are my photos for this week.
All these are taken within walking distance of my home.
You can click on them to see them full sized.
These photos  are taken with my Canon A560.

Here is where the creek enters the open bay. Barnegat Bay changes from deep navy to Coca Cola bottle green depending on the weather and the time of day. Sometimes it is a light blue. It is always surprising.

You can see the barrier island across the bay. You can barely make out the ducks on the salt pond there.

I love when the sunlight glitters on the water

The grasses are bright green in summer, gold in autumn, brown in winter.
This is taken just as the sun was almost down and lights were coming on in homes.

Summer sunsets are often spectacular.

I paint and photograph what I see around me but sometimes I wonder if it bores people to see the same kinds of things over and over.  It doesn't bore me though and I love to share what I see with others.

weather very cool

  3. That is the prettiest blue water. The water coming into Sylvan Bay from the Gulf of Mexico is very seldom that blue. btw, I live just a few blocks from Sylvan Bay.

  4. No, never boring! Always lovely! Both your photography AND your paintings...esp. your paintings, because that takes so much talent...and you are obviously very talented and gifted. I feel honored to be your "friend' here and to enjoy the beauty that you share with us. Thank you.
