Saturday Night Thoughts

The problem with school shootings, Las Vegas shooting, all these violent acts,  is not guns my friends. The problem is the human mind devoid of  morality and consideration for others.
You cannot divorce yourself from God personally or nationally and think clearly or be righteous.
The human mind is a wonderful thing as long as there is a spiritual dimension to correct and contain it.   Left to it's own desires and will the mind can stray into  a desolate territory.
"The law of God is a perfect law because it converts the soul and makes the simple wise"Psalm 19
The law is based on love of God and love of fellow man that extends from it.
This is why people murder, because the love of God is not found in them and they answer to no higher power than themselves. The love of mankind is not in the forefront of their minds either and it has to be if one is to live peaceably.

US law already controls guns: who can buy, who cannot, which guns are legal and which are not.
What the USA is lacking today is morality and love for one's fellow man.

  1. AMEN!!! totally agree, my friend...and for the record, we have a favorite saying in this household, "Guns don't kill people, people kill people."

On a personal note, I can't stress education enough concerning guns. All of us here are trained and still go to classes...this nonsense that some folks are saying about taking gun rights away, I call baloney on.

    1. I am afraid the loss of the amendment would be for government's benefit not people's.
All of these mass shooters were on drugs for various psychological disturbances. Some drugs have a very ugly side effect on people.
If drugs are the cause of flipping out, are these people really responsible for what they have done?
Big Pharma looks to cover over symptoms but not for cures for these suffering people.

  2. Totally agree! And I agree with Linda's words...Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Satan is alive and real and he came to kill, steel and destroy. Lord come and get your children! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  3. The killing mindset doesn't rely on guns to destroy. In their absence, ordinary items are pressed into service - Molotov cocktails from bottles and rags, pipe bombs, explosives from FERTILIZER !!! Anything can be used to hurt and destroy...even words .It is indeed the absence of God at one's center of being that fails to guide and heal."Political correctness" will never admit that.
    Be well,my friend...

  5. Hi Annie, our society is in a sad state. Not surprised as God is taken out and man's selfish ways take over. Though I believe in the right to bear arms, I do think that there needs to be stricter guidelines to purchase assault weapons. I think we are an over burdened society with increasing violence and lack of morals. Mental illness is on the rise and not surprising in a our society of today. We do need God for sure. The enemy is having a field day and I suspect it will only get worse. Praying for our country.

  6. Thank you for this excellent and thoughtful post, Annie. I totally agree with your stance, and thank you for saying it so succinctly. We are in a very sad state of affairs here in America. People have left God out of our schools, homes, businesses and government, and then they wonder why people go astray and do heinous acts. Praying for our leaders that they will use good sense in trying to "solve" this terrible issue. Praying for the families of those lost in this senseless act. I know they are hurting beyond anything we can imagine. They need prayer, love and time to grieve. Blessings to you today, Annie. Thank you again.

  7. Annie, Thank you, this is a true post. I remember Bishop Fulton J. Sheen when I was young. We need more love of God in our lives. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  8. We need God. Pure and simple. Human beings do not function right without Him.
