Autumn is on the Way

Hi friends
Autumn is a couple of days away and can be sensed in the air.
Thursday, as I am composing this, is a nice cool day here at the New Jersey shore. Not too sunny, but a nice day over all.
I am joining in for Friday Foto Friends and Skywatch Friday again this week. They are a lot of fun and you will enjoy it if you give it a try. It is a wonderful way to see the photos of others and enjoy their work.
Here are a few photos that I took this summer.  I hope you enjoy seeing the seaside.

Not a big surf  on the ocean side this cool day. Sun peeks in and out of clouds.

Phragmites grows to almost 15 or more feet.  As autumn goes on, it will turn golden.

By the bay it grows almost up to the water line.

I love the sound of it rustling in the wind.

The lagoons are behind houses and serve as a watery driveway for boats.

A storm approaching  below....I like the white around the phragmites.
I enhanced the color saturation in this photo but not a lot.

Some lazy girl resting her feet..
Oh, yeah, it's me.

Night time on the bay. Barnegat Bridge is the string of lights to the left.
You know that bridge from the song by Frankie Valle and the Four Seasons "My Eyes Adored You".
"walking home every day, over Barnegat Bridge and bay..til we turned into the me and you"

Reaching up to the sky

Meanwhile in my flower box.. And Instagram enhanced the photo.

And on the other side of town, the ocean is still there doing its thing.
It does it very well most of the time.

   An almost finished Canoli...
Almost but not quite. The crispy outside is the best part.

  3. Greetings and Salutations from Illinois. I look forward to seeing your photographs. I could almost hear the sound of the sea this week or was that the grasses? Enjoy Fall. It is my favorite time of year.

  4. Always love to see your bay and surrounding area of the sea...so lovely and peaceful where you are. Love the petunia and the feet and the almost gone canoli. That wasn't fair. Now I want one, although I don't know if I've ever even had one before! Must check that out. Have a blessed and beautiful day/weekend.

  9. So nice to be by the water , if only here .
Interesting fact about phragmites - their roots are as deep as the plant is tall !
Have a wonderful day , my friend !

  10. I gave up waiting for the chocolate pie! What beautiful photos today. I never heard of phragmites before and I hadn't noticed that line about the bridge in the Frankie Valle song. You just had to go and brag with the pic of the cannoli. Enjoy your weekend.
