Today's post by Toni in which she talks about an old weathered trunk holding memories and surprises from the past, made me think of this song sung by Irish tenor Robert White.
This song along with Danny Boy and Gentle Annie make me cry.
There is nothing like a good Irish tenor and Robert White is one of the very best in my opinion.
Sometimes we mourn for lost childhood and the simple, gentle times it held for us.
I hope you enjoy this song.
Beautiful, very melancholy.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Annie. I think I watched him on PBS a couple of years ago. Thank you for sharing my friend.
ReplyDeleteThat was so beautiful, but made me sad. Thank you for sharing...it is a happy kind of sad...remembering my home of my childhood...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh, that was too sad. I think thoughts like that sometimes. But we must move on. I love my days of childhood.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful song, Annie, but I agree with the others. So sad. My childhood was not always happy but I have such fond memories of home. He is a magnificent tenor!
