My post is being prepared on Thursday night, just as my Saturday post is prepared on Friday afternoon. Tomorrow is supposed to be very cold and a chance of snow. We will see.
Welcome to my blog and
Skywatch Friday and
Friday Photos.
These photos were taken in my own neighborhood, close to my house earlier this week. You can click to enlarge them as always.
There are photos of the creek, the bay, the woods and the marsh. which are all in the same area.
In the back yard, trees have turned orange and red, one of the wonderful perks of autumn.

in the foreground at the top of the photo are leaves of my Wisteria, which hangs over my back porch. |
Berry Nice
The big cedar creek flows into the bay just to the left of this photo. It is tea colored water but crystal clear down to the white sand bottom.
The sun filters down through the trees onto the water in the early afternoon leaving the creek striped with colors.
The bay is dotted along with lagoons, coves and salt marshes.
Plants and grass has gone from deep green to deep gold in just a couple of months |

Beyond the golden grass is the open bay and across it is the big barrier island, part of which is also my town on the ocean side. You can just make out the white structures on the bay side of the island. Its not wide and the Atlantic is on the other side of it. If there was no water, you could walk there. |
|
Look at the shadows in the crystal clear bay. |
|
I love how the light plays in the clear salt water |
|
The clear water shows the golden sandy bottom, then turns bluer as it gets deeper |
|
On the creek, leaves held a convention on the sand in a run off. |
|
Leaves of red and orange littered the ground by the creek |
|
Wave to my neighbors on the other side there... Hello!! |
|
Phragmites turns soft and fluffy in the fall. |

Trees embracing. |
Come again for Saturday 9 won't you?
Beautiful scenes Annie. I can sense the chill in the air when I look at them. The fall colours in your first photo are especially beautiful. I did year that it was going to be very cold and snowy in the eastern part of Canada too. I hope all of you in the east of Canada and the USA will stay safe and warm. xx
ReplyDeleteChilly here too. Have a great week-end.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning , my friend !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos...you do have an eye for beauty .Thank you for sharing it with us !
It is cold here , as I get ready to go out . Genevieve , the cat , is watching the birds at the feeder with rapt attention . She is a wise girl who appreciates the warmth and shelter now hers...with no wish to join me in the chilly outdoors !
Wishing you and yours all good things...
I love your photos, and know that you enjoy looking at your water/bay/creek scenes much like I love my little pond scenes. I love how the sunlight changes in the fall and winter, casting different shadows and filtering the light in new ways. I am waving at your neighbors across the bay! I wonder, do they ever wave back at you? I often think of that when I am flying in a plane or looking up at a plane flying overhead. I wave at the plane and wonder if anyone up there is waving at me! Maybe so...we'll never know. But there are others like us who like to wave even though we can't see the others waving back. We can imagine they are, and that is just as much fun. Thank you for a lovely post today. have a blessed day.
