Reading...

Welcome to Tuesday 4 in memory of it's founder, our friend Toni Taddeo..
  1. How do you relax in the evening after dinner? I will have a hot cup of tea or decaf  coffee and watch some Midsomer Murders on Youtube.
  2. Do you read in bed? What kind of books do you read? I used to but now it hurts my back so I read in a chair. At night I like to read mysteries, like Agatha Christie or The Lord Peter Wimsey series.
  3. Do you have a list of books you look forward to reading? Yes, the Miss Read series.
  4. What is the best book you've ever read and why?  I think it is between 2 books: David Copperfield and A Christmas Carol. I love the ambiance of the times. I love A Christmas Carol for the story of a man finding his humanity and throwing away his bitter spirit.

  2. I also love A Christmas Carol, but love to watch the movie every year. I like the older version. I also enjoyed David Copperfield, and would love to see that movie again someday. My reading has dropped off over the summer because our library was closed. Now that it is open and the nights are getting longer, I need to get back over there and start reading again. I mostly read in the evenings after supper, but lately I use that time to do my blogging, so I don't have as much time for reading as I did. I love your header painting. You are so very talented. I still think your paintings would make a wonderful calendar. You should contact Lang and see if you can get them published! You are truly gifted.

  4. Oh , my friend ! You have released a memory long forgotten !
As a child , I used to curl up in a wing chair , much like the one you posted...and in much the same position . Mother had it recovered in a grey wool tweed...reading there was similar to being hugged by my Dad in his grey wool sports jacket !...such a lovely memory...thank you !
