Sunday Stealing

Hi! I am letting down on blogging and I don't like it one bit.    I have an excuse though I will keep it to myself for now.   Anyway, I am joining in Sunday Stealing and then I will work on Tuesday 4.. and get that up as well.

 Here is Sunday Stealing:

Hi! I'm your host Bev Sykes of the blog "Funny the World". . Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Cheers to all of us thieves!

1. Would you rather be the guest or the host?
I enjoy being the hostess.  I just enjoy entertaining people so very much.   I do like being a guest from time to time as well.

2. What do you like to wear when you feel fancy?
I like a lovely dress, some good jewelry, high heels,  and a bit more makeup.

3. How often do you try something completely new?    I don't think there is a time I can put on it.  I often like to try new things and am open to a bit of adventure.

4. Do you enjoy weddings?    Yes.  I think weddings are lovely and have always enjoyed them.  After all  it's a couple's special day and I think the attitude of their guests helps make it nice for them.

5. Have you ever had something customized?  Yes. I have had evening gowns made for me and dresses altered to fit better.  As a child I wore hand made shoes. I was born crippled and wore customized shoes for quite a few years.   Of course you couldn't tell they were customized at all.

6. Do you cook spontaneously or meal plan?     If I have family I plan meals based on what they want to eat. If I have a husband I cook for him and to his taste.  Now, alone, I am more spontaneous.

7. Books you like to read over and over... I have a few favorites I have read many times which include Agatha Christie novels, Danielle Steele novels , Candace Bushnell novels and Robert Parker novels too

8. What are you really good at?   I was a very good dancer. I was a good ice skater, a fast runner. I play piano pretty good according to my friends.  Some people like my paintings.

9. Do you sleep with windows open or a fan on?  Yes to both. The fan goes all year long. I do not like a hot room at night.  I love summer breezes when I sleep.

10. What is the easiest recipe you know?     I assume you mean a recipe that is both really good to eat and simple to make.   There are a few but one of my favorites is ground turkey cooked with fennel seeds and shredded cabbage. I serve it with mashed potato and a mustard sauce.  It's simple food but I really enjoy it.    Oh.. but now come to think of it, the easiest recipe is toast fried in butter in the frying pan... YUM.

11. Are you comfortable starting conversation with strangers?  Yes though I rarely do.  I don't like to intrude on people and I am a very reserved and private person.

12. Do you prefer quiet, or ambient noise when you relax?   There is always a bit of ambient noise isn't there?   For absolute quiet you'd need some kind of deprivation tank.

13. Who is your most adventurous or exciting friend?  I don't have one but I do tease my good friend Katy when we get lost in her car about being on an adventure.

14. What do you eat when you can’t decide what to eat?    Toast or chips

15. Do you have any funny pet stories?      Oh yes I have several.   When I was a teen we had a German Shepherd named Kaiser.  One night he walked into the living room with a goofy look on his face.  After viiting my father a few minutes he walked back into the dining room and each time came back a bit odd.  Finally he walked in crooked and cockeyed.     My father was concerned and followed him into the dining room where he discovered that a bottle of Contreau (liquor) had fallen on its side and was leaking.  The dog had been licking it up and was very drunk!

One day my dog Brandy, a flat coat retriever (they look liks black labs) spend some serious time trying to get my attention to take her outside in the yard.     I had just a bit more to do and put it off.     After a few minutes I heard her dragging her leash down the hall way. She walked over to our oldest cat and dropped it at her feet and pushed it to her with her nose. "Take me for a walk" she was saying.   She thought the cat would take her out if I wouldn't.  I got off my butt and took her out for a run.

Thank you for dropping by. I am sorry I've been a bad blogger.

  1. Funny stories about the dogs...glad the "drunk dog" survived! You are an extremely talented and gifted woman. When I think of you saying you were born "crippled" and had to wear special shoes, etc., and then you became a dancer, and ice skater and runner...well, God certainly blessed you and showed you such great mercy and kindness. Sounds like a miracle to me. As for not blogging much...we all go through these seasons. I've not been very well these past few weeks, etc., and sometimes writing just doesn't quite cut it for me. But then I feel sad when I miss out on visiting with my friends here in blogland, and that gets me back up and running. But this should be something that is a pleasant interlude and not a chore. Do what you can, when you can, and don't worry about following any rules or schedule. We'll still be here. Have a blessed and wonderful day.

  4. Interesting post !
You have been sorely missed ...here and locally !
As to #13 , not only were we "lost" because of capricious township detours , but a poor PT Cruiser suffered constant teasing about old car noises and the newer one is falsely accused of the same !!! It is , however , all in good humor and well worth it on shopping trips in her company .
