1) In this song, Elton John tells us it's 7:00 PM on Saturday evening and he's ready to rock with his friends. What will you be doing at 7:00 this evening? I got a date to see a movie after dark.
2) His sister is ready to party, too. The lyrics tell us she looks cute with "a handful of grease in her hair." What haircare products would we find in your bathroom right now?
Shampoo and conditioner, Dippity Do.
3) He sings that by Saturday, he's had it with the aggravation and discipline of the past week and now he's ready to cut loose. How did last week treat you?
It was intricate and loaded with garbage. My grand daughters friend from school was bullied into suicide by some evil girls.. The story made major headlines. Then a family friend was killed on his motorcycle. My daughter's two dogs are both very ill.
By the way, my daughter was bullied at this school also and so we put her into a religious school and what a difference. Better education, better kids, better teachers.
To see my grand daughter have to go to the wake of a child her own tender age , one who was bullied to death, is heart breaking.
4) This Saturday night finds Elton and his friends "packed pretty tight" in their bar of choice. Agoraphobics have a hard time feeling safe in busy, crowded places. How about you? Are you comfortable in a crowd?
I don't mind crowds but, I don't find them fun either as they often spawn trouble.
5) The lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin, Elton's frequent collaborator. Bernie ranks this near the top of his favorite Elton John records. What's your favorite?
I like "Sacrifice" , "Blue Eyes", "Rocket Man" ,"I'm Still Standing" are favorites.
6) Elton has turned his bad eyesight into a hobby, claiming that over the years he has purchased well over 200,000 pairs of glasses. Do you wear glasses? If so, how many prescription pairs do you own?
I need glasses for distance but I am not wearing any for a while now. My sunglasses are an outdated prescription pair.
7) Elton once had to cancel an international tour because of an emergency appendectomy. Do you still have your appendix?
Why? Do you need to borrow one?
8) In 1973, when this song was popular, M*A*S*H was at the top of the ratings. Who is your favorite M*A*S*H character? Colonel Potter was a good character.
9) Random question: Who is the wisest person you know? I have no clue. Smartest would be Joseph P. Farrell and E. Michael Jones but wise? No clue.

ReplyDeleteSince I have been talking to you on FB this morning, I have completely lost my train of thought, grin and lol (ok and not mention the husband who is heck bent on arguing, LOL). ANYWAYS, I read that about the bullying and suicides. It makes me so sad...to see so much hurt going on in this world. Do tell me about your movie date, grin.
ReplyDelete#3...public school can be such a toxic place. That is another reason teachers are leaving. The school I work at actually has psychological counseling housed in the school...not the school counselor, but regular professional counseling. The kids have gone through so much at home. It breaks your heart and makes you sick. That is just awful what happened to your Grand daughter's friend. I have many friends here that are putting their kids in private school because of the messed up dynamic in public school. Bullying is the worst. My son was bullied in school and is in counseling now because of it. It is a sad world. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend. ♥

ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your grand daughters friend, that is terrible, also about your friend who died in the motorcycle accident. It seems this issue with bullying is so rampant these days, the human race is so broken. Dippity Doo!!! Didn't know they still made it.
