A Milestone Birthday Party

It is still rainy here on the mid-Atlantic coastline and seems like more to come.   It's also cool and breezy most days.  Perhaps a cool summer is coming.

Another week has flown by and we are already staring a new week in the face.  Time for  Toni's Tuesday 4.

Everyone loves a party.  Imagine you are arranging a party or an affair for a friend.    Perhaps a home
wedding or a milestone birthday.   Share with us your best ideas please.  Money is not a concern.....

1.  a. What is the occasion?
A  milestone birthday party for a lady though this could easily be a wedding reception as well.

b  Will there be a theme to the party?
It will be a Mexican theme (or any theme I know she might like) but Mexican seems lovely and fun.
2.   Will there be music in the background or perhaps a hired band or DJ?  What music will play? I would have a Mariachi band play and set up a dance floor for anyone who wishes to dance.

3. Describe how you will decorate the house for the party/wedding.
I might do it outside and hire a tent and dance floor.
A bouquet of lovely flowers would be in the center of the tables.
A formal table setting to lend some elegance to the occasion.
I would also have a bartender and a coffee/tea station.
The dessert table would hold the birthday cake and other assorted goodies.

4. What kind of foods will you serve and will it be finger foods or a sit down meal? Catered or home
style?  What kind of cake?   A white cake with a pineapple filling  and colorful flowers .and design on the sides.  This one to the right is very pretty and colorful.
I would have  a Mexican restaurant  cater the party with a variety of foods.

Here is a mariachi band at a very formal wedding.  I think  you will be very surprised at the music.  Listen to it all.. from Pachabels Canon in D to Ave Maria, this band is wonderful and the wedding is beautiful.

I hope you had fun with this one.  I do try to come up with some interesting themes.   I am always on the look out for ideas so feel free to  offer suggestions of things that interest you.
