My days are backwards lately. Up at night with discomfort, sleeping in the day . This will pass.
But, in the meantime a message to geo-engineers: "It's not nice to fool mother nature!"
Now, on to more important things like Saturday 9.
Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) Is red a color you often wear?
I have a dark red sweater and a screaming red Rutgers tee shirt but I don't wear it often. As a "winter" as far as coloring goes, red is supposed to look nice for me.
2) In this song, Chris De Burgh is thrilled to be dancing with the woman he loves. Do you recall what was playing the last time you stepped onto the dance floor?
I dance at home, usually sitting down now, but I move and my feet can still cut a rug. Song the other day was Uptown Funk.
3) Chris says he wrote this song about the first time he saw his future wife, who wore a red dress when she came to see his band perform. Tell us about a memorable concert going experience.
I really enjoyed seeing Elmer Bernstein at Carnegie Hall.
I once missed a concert by Itzhak Perlman but I think I would have loved that one a whole lot!
(just an fyi.. Itzhak is Isaac in English) but the trip was a school trip and got cancelled.
I don't and never did go to rock concerts. It's just not for me but I have seen the Trans Siberian Orchestra in Atlantic City and way back in the day I saw the Osmond brothers who were super talented. They could dance, sing and play every musical instrument you can imagine.
4) Chris' father worked as a diplomat for the United Kingdom. Former US ambassador Robert D. Blackwill believes a diplomat should possess strong writing/speaking skills, meticulous attention to detail, historical knowledge, and stamina. Do you have any of those attributes?
I was a decent public speaker and spoke before the NJ State Legislature a long while back. I have some historical knowledge.. but, I really am not a good judge of myself or my capabilities.

5) Chris' family owns Bargy Castle, a 15th century fortress in County Wexford, Ireland. Bargy Castle has been converted into a hotel. What's the last hotel you stayed in?
The Plaza Hotel in New York City. We were upgraded to an elegant apartment suite by the lovely lady at the front desk who was a Jersey girl. Those rooms are a few thousand a night. La di da.. what a great experience that was.
6) Chris is a wine connoisseur who sold a collection of vintage reds for over $500,000. If you suddenly came into $500,000, what would you do with it?
Renovate my home.
7) In 1986, when this song was popular, singer/actress Lady Gaga was born in Manhattan. Have you been to New York City?
I have been to the city countless times... way too many to recall. I grew up 25 minutes outside the city and that time was only because of traffic.
8) Also in 1986, NHL Hall of Famer Jacques Plante died. Are you a hockey fan?
I think it's a great sport but I am not really a fan in the usual sense of the word. I can take it or leave it. Even though NJ has the Devil's, I have always liked the Rangers but I just don't get excited about sports at all nor do I follow them.
9) Random question – You just slid behind the wheel and are about to embark on a long road trip. Which of these famous Williams would you choose as your navigator: Willie Nelson, Bill Murray, or William, Prince of Wales?
Maybe Willie Nelson but, I really would pass on them all. How about William Shatner?

I still remember the first concert I went to with my parents when I was a kid - Peter, Paul and Mary. Hope your sleeping schedule can get back on track, Annie. Have a blessed Saturday!
ReplyDeleteYeah, a YOUNGER William Shatner, aka Captain Kirk of the Starship Enterprise! Yeah, I would trust HIM to be my navigator, but really only God can be my Pilot. No one else knows the way through the universe like HE does, because HE created it! I enjoyed your answers. I've only been to NYC once to actually ride through it with a purpose, and thankfully my hubby's cousin from NJ was driving us around and took us to a Yankee's Game. That was great fun. Oh, and we stopped at Carnegie Hall, and I made my debut in the lobby singing Mary Had a Little Lamb. LOL. All other trips we bypassed the city. You must really love your home's location to use the $500,000 to renovate. I would probably build a new house exactly the way I want it and where I want it. Although nowadays $500,000. doesn't go as far as it used to!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely weekend and Thanksgiving week ahead! Blessings to you and all!
Yeah, I could go for Shatner as my navigator …
ReplyDeleteWe do a lot of chair dancing/yoga at work to get the clients moving. There are some really fun routines on You Tube. I also have a CD I ordered off Facebook for something called Body Groove. Also fun and can be done standing or sitting.
ReplyDeleteI would pass on all of the William's too. The hotel experience sounds like so much fun. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

Ooo, William Shatner! Great choice. Uptown Funk is a song that you simply can't not move to when it comes on.
ReplyDeleteLong ago and far away , I was taken to a Neil Diamond concert in NYC , otherwise , that is not a place for me to seek out ! Leave me with a star-studded sky and the sound and scent of the ocean !!! May each of you spend Thanksgiving with those you love !
