In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning..

A second post after Arthur's Prayer...

It is the wee hours of the morning and I am up,listening to the sound of the little river flowing swiftly past my house.  It is raining and thundering out and when it floods a bit, the streams that flow on all sides of me and out into the bay, overflow a bit. One of them flows on either side of the street and the road is a small flat bridge over it.  When it rains a lot, it overflows into the street and cascades down the road. It's a nice sound on a windy chilly night making you feel safe and warm inside.
It is pitch black outside with only the garden lights illuminating the area a bit and glinting off the raindrops and shimmering in the little river flowing on past.  It seems in a big hurry to go nowhere in particular.
The thunder has scared the Peeper frogs into silence  but it makes me feel good to hear it and to see the lightning off in the distance.

Radar shows a big storm covering northern Maryland much of Pennsylvania, part of Delaware, much of New Jersey and all the way up to New London Connecticut. So,it will probably be raining for a long while.
Maybe it's time to get into bed ,,, Good night.

  1. You make the rain sound so comforting. I love going to bed in the rain, as long as it isn't a severe storm.Praying yours is not severe. We need the rain here so badly. Praying it will come soon. Thank you for this beautiful post. I pray you slept well.

  3. Hi Anne! Trying to get back into blogging again. My husband had a 5 valve bypass on March 4. We are in Florida at our son Chris's house. Hubby got sick almost a week before we were to drive back home. He is doing well, but with the quarantine, who knows when we can go home. I thought to get back to blogging, since we have a laptop now. My ipad also died on me. Oh well!

  4. Hello Annie!! We've got bad storms coming in tonight, predicting lots of hail and lightening. I hope it doesn't hail, it causes too much damage. Hope you're staying happy and well. ((hugs)) and Blessings!

  5. I too like the sounds of a rainstorm as long as it doesn't get too intense.

  6. We just had a week of rain, and the sun is shining today. I love to hear the sound of water, be it rain or streams of water. Enjoy your week!
