Sunday Stealing

Some of this week's Sunday Stealing questions are pretty interesting. They are always good but, I guess some of these just really caught my eye.     Sunday Stealing is brought to us by Bev Sykes each week and well worth joining in.
Stolen from Friday 5

1) What one event from your lifetime would you change if you could, and why?
None.  I figure that God let my decisions stand and let me learn from them and brought me where I am now for good or bad.  I would not be who I am without all that went before.    We are on this earth to make our own decisions, right or wrong, and learn from them. Somehow God works it out for our good if we are faithful.  So, it's a challenge to choose right, think things through and come up with the right answers.

2) If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be and how old would your younger self be when they got it?    Do you think your younger self would listen?
No, our younger selves would do what they did without the wisdom of hind sight. Leopard don't change their spots.  I don't know how young or when they'd get it but probably the same as it did happen.

3) Would you be any good on Survivor?
Well, when I was young, yes.  I am cool headed and smart and I was pretty capable of many  things.

4) What's a safety rule that's very important to you?
Always spy out the lay of the land and have a plan in mind.  Never walk into something blind.  Don't take chances.  Don't tear down fences before you know why they were put up in the first place.

5) What would you like to say to people in the future?
I would warn them that this particular time in history is not normal or good. It is anti-human. I'd tell them to remember earth was made for man, not man for earth and people come first.  I would tell them God designed earth to go on forever.  World without end as it says.
If things were more normal in the future, I would tell them to beware the woke crap of this time in history.  Avoid it at all costs.   Avoid thinking theee is any such thing as equality of outcome. Just isn't so.  And I would tell them that one size does not fit all.

6) What's your favorite dish to bring to a summer cookout?
I like my potato salad quite a bit. Best I can think of.. sorry for bragging... so I guess potato salad.

7) How much time have you spent outdoors this week?
  Every darn minute I could.

8) Where do you set your thermostat?
Depends on my mood and how I feel that day and it changes throughout the day too.  I generally like cold more than hot.

9) How did you learn to swim?
I learned in a lake. Got in and started to swim.

10) How do you avoid overheating?
Overheating what? Food?  The house? Myself?     I watch the food closely.  I keep the house moderately warm and for myself I drink water.

11). What are you going to do this weekend?
Weekend is almost over.   I spent part watching Lonesome Dove again.  Did some house cleaning, etc.

12) What’s your favorite way to spend time?
Being with friends and family having a BBQ or picnic or just getting together for dinner.

13) What’s the most useless thing you own that you would never get rid of?
I don't think I own anything useless. I make use of it all or I don't own it long.

14) Have you started planning your next vacation?
hahaha, I haven't had a vacation in over 30 years and I doubt I ever will have one.  I don't have money for nonsense like that.

15) Are you very active, or do you prefer to just relax in your free time or is it one and the same to you?
Used to be I never sat still very long.  Now I am disabled and sit more than I like. Life has to be molded around what you can and cannot do. That's how life goes.

  1. My answer is very similar to yours for #1. There are several incidents that happened to me when I was around 5 that I had nothing to do with and would like to take that away but I guess even that has given me empathy, sympathy, wariness, and a few other things.

  4. I saw bits and pieces of Lonesome Dove, but I don't think I ever saw it in its entirety. I probably should.
