Thanksgiving Feast

Icy cold weather here on the edge of America will not keep us from being thankful for the bounty given by Almighty God to this nation. It is time for Tuesday 4. I hope you have fun doing it this week.

The Thanksgiving Feast

Welcome, welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 .
This coming Thursday is Thanksgiving Day and the day after is my birthday! Hoorah for me. My daughter is the 22nd.   Tuesday this year.
Let's talk about the Thanksgiving Feast.

1. Do you celebrate with family, friends or by yourself?
I celebrate with family and friends. We think the more the merrier.
2.  Do you watch the Thanksgiving Day parade from Macy's in New York City?  The appearance of Santa at the end signals the start of the Christmas season.  What does the day hold for you?
It's a big deal to my daughter.  I usually have it going in the background.  I have never been to one though I grew up 20 minutes outside the city.    It's just too busy and too packed.  You have to get a room in the city to do that and especially one over looking the parade route.   I think TV is the best way to watch.

3. What foods are the hit of Thanksgiving Day for you?
I love the canned cranberry sauce, and my stuffing.  I love corn pudding when I make it too.  Did you know New Jersey is the Queen of Cranberries and Blueberries and tomatoes.   The New Jersey Pinelands is one of the few places where cranberries grow naturally.  There are bogs just a minute or so from my house.  Ocean Spray farms them here.

4.  We say grace before and after meals. Is grace a part of your Thanksgiving meal?
Whatever your Thanksgiving traditions, I pray that the day is meaningful and filled with love for you whether with family, friends or alone. May God shine his blessing love down on you and yours and make us all truly thankful this year.
We say grace before and after.  Why twice?  1 is because the  “earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof”  so you thank before you eat.
And 2 because it says,   “And thou shalt eat and be satisfied, and bless the Lord thy God for the good land which He hath given thee” (Deuteronomy 8:10). After we finish eating a meal, we are commanded to thank God for the food with which He has blessed us.

Have the best Thanksgiving ever. Fill it with joy and thankfulness for all we have.

November 22, 1963  Rest in Peace Mr. President,
John Fitzgerald Kennedy 35th President of the United States of America

  2. I learned about cranberry's and blueberry's while I was on the New England cruise. My husband made cranberry relish one year with fresh cranberries. It was a lot of work, so back to Occean Spray! Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. I did not know any of that on #3!
I love the blessings on #4! I have not thought about that. Nice!
I wonder all of the time how different the U.S. would be if JFK had lived and if Bobby were President too. Such great ideas they had. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

  10. Grace is so important to us. I like your style. JFK was an amazing person as was his brother RFK. Teddy was not a nice guy. But John and Bobby had the same dream as MLK Jr and it is sad none of them survived to fulfill those dreams.
