Rock of Ages

Rain! Flooding! Wind! What a day Friday was. All night long the wind howled through the pines and pushed the ocean around like a thug. Rain fell steadily all day and most of the night. If the temperatures had no risen up into the 40's the snow would have been piled deep. I must say, however, I completely enjoyed going to sleep to the sound of howling winds. More rain may come today but it is a bit cleared up. My daughters plane home from Wisconsin was delayed by hours because the wind here was so violent they could not move.
Here are some Friday photos and one for Skywatch Friday,  taken at great risk of life and limb on slippery rocks in the midst of a raging sea!!  Feel sorry for me and my stupidity !!  😉

"Rock of Ages let our song,
Praise thy saving power;
Thou amidst the raging foes,
Wast our sheltering tower."   —Maoz Tzur.. Chanukah song

 "If it weren't for the rocks in its bed, the stream would have no song."  — Carl Perkins

"The sky is the daily bread of the eyes." — Ralph Waldo Emerson

  1. Lovely photos but do be safe. Those slippery rocks look dangerous!

  4. Beautiful photos of the raging sea and rocky coast! Glad you were safe and sound...And glad your daughter was safe and not flying in the midst of the storm. Being delayed is much better than not arriving! I enjoyed the quotes with the pictures too. Have a beautiful weekend. It's getting colder here too. But not as cold as you I'm sure.

  5. Great shots, and I love your quotes about the rocks in stream and the sky being the daily bread of the eyes.
